What is the Ultranet?

A marketplace where all orders are end-to-end encrypted.

A marketplace where all data is preserved as long as a single machine somewhere in the world is running the software.

A marketplace re-imagined and built from the ground up using bleeding-edge blockchain technology. Learn more about the breakthroughs here.

The Ultranet's Unique Benefits

Your Listings Can't Be Taken Down

  • All data is replicated and distributed across all nodes on the network in a novel “block pool” data structure.
  • Users will always have access to your listings (similar to how transaction data works in Bitcoin).
  • Meanwhile, all other marketplace platforms are subject to censorship of listings and/or outright take-down.

Your Transactions are Private

  • The Ultranet is pseudo-anonymous like Bitcoin and order information is always end-to-end encrypted.
  • Additionally, because the Ultranet is open-source and completely decentralized, its privacy guarantees can be audited and verified by anyone in the world at any time (similar to Bitcoin).
  • There is no closed-source software, period. This means sneaking in hidden “back doors” is impossible.

100% Open-Source

  • The Ultranet software is completely open-source meaning anyone can
audit it to make sure it’s not only free of bugs but also free of any
backdoors, malware, etc… The code is available here.
  • The Ultranet can therefore harness the power of a global community to improve and evolve over time.
  • Want a new feature? You have the power to add it yourself, and everyone can benefit from it immediately.
  • Everything from the UI to how listings are ranked is collaboratively modifiable and upgradable.

Ultra: The Most Deflationary Cryptocurrency

  • Ultra is the native cryptocurrency that powers the Ultranet, and it can be purchased using Bitcoin or Monero in minutes through the platform’s built-in decentralized exchange.
  • Ultra is burned whenever a user makes a purchase and whenever a merchant wants to promote her listings. This results in deflation over time likely at an exponential rate (i.e. hyper-deflation).
  • This is in stark contrast to nearly all existing cryptocurrencies, including Ethereum and Bitcoin, which pay transaction fees to miners but do not deflate meaningfully over time.

Get Started with Bitcoin or Monero in Minutes

  • In just a few minutes you can deposit Bitcoin, exchange it for Ultra, the cryptocurrency native to the Ultranet, and start making purchases or uploading listings as a merchant.
  • Monero can also be used with a service like xmr.to.
  • Bitcoin deposits and exchanges are processed using the Ultranet’s built-in decentralized exchange, meaning your privacy is preserved and no third parties are involved.

It's Time to Challenge the Platform Oligarchy

  • Today’s platforms are owned and controlled by a small group of people, meaning our data is in the hands of parties who may not have our best interests at heart.
  • In contrast, the Ultranet is owned and controlled by the decentralized network of people who run the software and hold the Ultra cryptocurrency.
  • Just by downloading the app and purchasing Ultra, you become a part of the network and contribute directly to a more free and democratic future.

Download the Desktop App

The app creates a seamless and private shopping experience by connecting to other peers running the software and syncing all marketplace data.

Warning

The demo app is for demonstration purposes only. Do not purchase or store Ultra in the demo app; download the desktop app to do this instead.

The Ultranet demo is basically the production Ultranet code, only it’s running on a “shared” machine that anyone can access. This means if you purchase Ultra in the demo, anyone can then access your account and steal it. Imagine a GMail account that multiple people are accessing at the same time– that’s what the demo is like, so please download the desktop app instead if you want to purchase Ultra or place an order.

Additionally, if you are on a mobile device we strongly recommend viewing the demo on your desktop instead. Make sure popups are enabled so the demo window can open.
